Today’s article from the Guardian’s Secret Footballer is about the passion of the FA Cup. Or more, the loss of it.

Yesterday he tweeted “Where has this passion for the cup gone? Does anybody care about the FA Cup?” and quoted Bill Shankly saying, “Sickness would not have kept me away from this one…If I’d been dead, I would have had them bring the casket to the ground, prop it up in the stands, and cut a hole in the lid“, after beating Everton in the 1971 FA Cup semi-final. It’s true this passion has gone. I remember the FA Cup final being the pinnacle of the season when I was younger. It certainly isn’t now.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to reading TSF’s views on it all. Will he also give us another clue or two as to his own identity? If you spot a clue in today’s article post a comment here pointing it out.
