Well, since compiling this list and going through the options there are a few candidates stronger than others but I really do have a feeling that The Secret Footballer is someone not yet listed amongst the leading candidates. There are plenty more footballers not yet mentioned here that it could be so if you think of anyone put forward your case for them…

Totally agree. People are picking the usual suspects but it could easily be someone with a much lower profile.
Reading TSF’s tweets just now, I realised he engages in general Twitter-style chitchat, including passing comments on the game that night and so on. This would suggest that the player doesn’t tweet under his own name. Which would rule out Owen (@themichaelowen), Davies (@kevindaviesbwfc) and Savage (@robbiesavage8) at least
