Phillips has two daughters: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Phillips_(footballer)#Personal_life
He would have said “my daughters will be told to stay away from footballers”.
12. He was co-commentator for Bolton – Arsenal so he’s actually doing Andy Gray’s job. I think you can definitely rule him out.
doesnt he say in his book that he has done it and will do it again after he retires
Just finished the book, and I was thinking of kevin phillips the hole time. He started out in Baldock Town.
2. Currently married.
3. Played for 4 managers in a year in Southampton in the 03-04 season.
Etc. Has been relegated, was the last game for Southampton when they were relegated, went to play PL afterwards.
Played with a pablo (Juan Pablo Angel)in Villa. In the start of the book I got the impression he wasnt the biggest or tallest of players.
And a lot more stuff :-)
As I looked through that list I kept thinking of Super Kev – Quinny could be the player that never moved and they had a great partnership together because of that! Sunderland were a succesful team in the Championship era and he was also a top player for us
In the book he mentions that he had just joined a club where the famous stadium was redeveloped into housing/flats and he missed the opportunity to buy in. KP joined Sunderland in 1997 when Roker Park was being redeveloped into housing and a retail estate…..
Just done a bit more digging…. KP also joined Southampton after redevelopment of The Dell. He also didnt come up through youth ranks anywhere, having signed for Watford from a non league team. He spent an appropriate amount of time at Sunderland, has a good relationship with a certain former Sunderland chairman (mentioned in the book)… there are too many fingers pointing his way
Playing for Leicester getting promoted then relegated with them and being one if the best players also mention if midlands clubs a lot in the book. The famous stadium turned into flats filbert street Leicestershire old stadium at the time Leicester under financial trouble so would have had opportunity to be part if consortium. And recently returned to end career there
Didn’t go to the World Cup, celebrated his birthday instead. Kevin Philips born in July.
Didn’t buy flats when the ground was redeveloped when the club moved. KP played for Southampton who solod the Dell for housing.
Signed for a club but didn’t play due to the manager. Aston Villa, KP left after 1 season.
Moved a long distance between clubs. Sunderland and anywhere.

“The Secret Footballer grew up on a council estate in rural England and only began playing organised football relatively late. He signed his first professional terms at the age of 21”
Kevin Phillips signed his 1st pro contract or Watford in 94, age 21.
