Rule him out. A quick read of his wiki will tell you why. Plus TSF congratulated Gary on this retirement on Twitter. Add in the fact that he’s only done one transfer and two managers, I think it’s a definite no.
I was too hasty to rule him out so he’s back. -He’s played under more than 4 managers if you include England.
10 No evidence, but I can’t believe he has a close friend at Liverpool!
11 Rather doubtful that he’s choose Harry over SAF, I’d have thought
14 Yes, the famous Neville Neville
Can’t remember him playing with a group of French speakers, either. He’s not played under a manager for a long time who has lost it (international managers shouldn’t count here, he talk about his manager coming to him for advice). And really, when you consider 15 and the comment TSF made, I think you’ll understand why it’s not him.
Can you rule him out again, please?
Haha, you’re right, it’s stacked up against him but I’m not sure it’s set in stone that it’s not him yet … The manager who lost it could be McClaren, who he has played under for both Man U and England.
Definitely not. Hardly fits any of the categories properly, especially the one about managers he’s played under.
Multicultural upbringing in Bury? I almost certain it’s not him.
This weekends article contained a nickname/phrase used to describe the guy on the team who follows his managers instructions without second thought, no matter what they might be. He used the exact same phrase when describing himself in the pre-amble build-up to the everton v liverpool semi final. ‘The Managers Son’!
Can’t be him, he’s never been relegated.
I’m gonna sound like a broke record here but what African mate has he that played in Russia? I see only Martins and Samba who played in the premier league and Russia. Never been relegated as Pete says also is a killer.
I seem to remember that TSF talked about being relegated and then leaving the relegated club due to his financial commitments. I don’t think PN has ever been relegated has he?
BTW you could add the relegation question to your list….
If it is the same Secret football aas in FourFourTwio then I don’t think it can be Phil because in one FourFourTwo article he talked about a big move and I don’t think he would class Man Utd to Everton (his only move) as a big move.
How did Neville go through the lower leagues when he’s only played for United and Everton? He also says he didn’t come through the academy, which Neville did at United. Needs ruling out
I recon the player he was friends with that played in Russia might well be Bentley. Who starred for Arsenal, Blackburn and Tottenham. He also had loan periods at Norwich, Birmingham And West Ham. I recon he plays for one of they teams, or did when Bentley was there. He mentions in one of the early chapters, that in the late 80s, he didn’t get into the trappings other youngsters would. Hence making me think he is a older person born roughly 1970-1975.
I’d rule him out. TSF talks about how he heard from a friend how good it was to work under Sir Alex. Phil Neville wouldn’t have to find that out from someone else. Plus TSF started his career off at a low level club by the sounds of it and didn’t play at the top level all his career.
