What a revelation by The Secret Footballer (TSF)
The Premier League chief executive, Richard Scudamore, has told referees not to send off the best players as it’s bad for the brand, exemplified by a Wayne Rooney two footed tackle.
In TSF’s latest article he refers to a shocking two footed tackle made by Wayne Rooney on TSF’s team’s right back.
It’s a small clue but a clue non-the-less.
Does anyone remember a two footed tackle by ‘Wazza’ on a right back for which he didn’t get sent off?
If so, we may well be able to decipher a former club of TSF.

In 2008, Rooney made a two-footed tackle on Nico Kranjkar of Portsmouth. Rooney didn’t get a red card and then he got labelled a THUG by many newspapers. So yeah, does that mean Dave Kitson could be TSF???
You’re talking about this tackle …but was Kranjcar playing right back that day?
No Niko never played full back for us at all, very rarely tracked back tbh. He was predominantly a left sided midfielder but sometimes played in the middle.
I genuinely don’t think that TSF is Dave Kitson, I have heard quite a lot of things about his behavior, and seeing his reaction to being subbed for Oxford, against us (Portsmouth), a couple of weeks ago, I don’t believe TSF would react in this way.
Just my opinion, and a bit of a tangent, but to summarise, Niko Kranjcar didn’t play RB for us.
Again not a right back but getting closer, Chris Samba was on the receiving end in 2008 for which Rooney only got a yellow. In terms of candidates, David Bentley was in the team that day, but that’s about it. Samba would certainly have been centre back as Brett Emerton was playing, though i’d add it as a possibility never the less. Link below:
